How the Proceeds from the 2014 GlobalRun4Water Were Used
Global Grant # 1422027 Barrios Eduardo Castillo, Honduras: $1,500 helped provide funding to build a dam with a sediment filter 1.8miles away from a proposed 50,000 gallon water storage tank and to connect the dam and this new tank with 1.8 miles of pipeline, as well as to install a metered chlorination system. The project provides clean water to 4,000 people in Barrio Eduardo Castillo, Honduras.
Global Grant # 1527809 Santa Elena, La Arena, Piura, Peru: $5,000 in funding helped to provide clean, safe water to the residents of Santa Elena, La Arena, Piura, Peru. The project includes a solar powered water treatment system, hygiene education, and empowerment in the form of a public utility will also create sustainability for future operation and maintenance expenses. Beneficiaries include 224 families or approximately 1,220 people living in the village.
